The Christening of the

When I first got the "Widget" and put her in Lake Lanier, I planned on a christening party with my then first mate (now my wife). As we were sailing out from the marina, she went to the bow to prepare the bubbly.

Notice the fancy foot work and the glass. She doesn't want to lose anything.

It is now time for the formality of christening the "Widget". As you can see we do not want to polute the lake with broken glass, so my mate pours a bit on the boat. We don't want to pour too much. Want to save some for the dinner afterwards.

As you can see, my first mate does not want to wait for dinner and starts to christen herself. Unfortunately, I have to wait until we get to the anchorage and weigh the anchor before I can celebrate.

After grilling steaks on the Magna Grill with baked potatoes (which float when you spin the grill and they land in the lake) and chef salad, we sit back with another bottle of wine and enjoy the sunset.

It is the end of the day and time to "hit the hay". We are content and serene. We now have our little "trailer sailor" which we can set forth on new adventures anywhere.

Life doesn't get much better than this.
